We’ve had a lot of enquiries recently throughout the U.K and we feel there is a need inform you of our methods on how we calculate our travel expenses and costs.
How we calculate our travel cost is simple, we visit The AA website (http://www.theaa.co.uk) and input the to and from postcodes in the get route section of the AA website. This brings up the distance in miles and kilometres along with expected travel times. We then charge £0.40 per mile.
Anything below or in the region of 25 miles we don’t charge any travel expenses for.
For example if we were travelling to Norfolk from Birmingham the AA give a distance of 160 miles and a time of 3 hours 16 minutes. By multiplying 0.40 by 160 it gives a total of £64 each way. You would then have to multiply £64 by 2 for the return journey.
Another example would be if we were travelling to London from Birmingham the AA give a distance of 115 miles and a journey time of 2 hours 27 minutes. By multiplying 0.40 by 115 it gives a total of £46.00 each way. Once again you would then have to multiply the £46.00 by two to give a grand total of £92.00. Congestion charges along with parking fees would be charged at cost.
